The Nocturnes is a big band in the Jersey Shore area that is available for concerts, dances, parties, fundraisers, and various special occasions. The band consists of five saxophones, four trumpets, three trombones, bass, piano, guitar, and a very special vocalist.
The band recreates the swinging jazz sound of the Big Band Era, performing many original scores from the 40's through the present. The Nocturnes library consists of standards and classics made famous by Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Harry James, Benny Goodman, Ray Anthony, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Stan Kenton, Henry Mancini, the Gershwin brothers and many others. The band performs a wide variety of musical arrangements from swing, jive, slow melodic ballads, Latin, Bossa Nova, to classic Rock and Roll.
